Sony A7R III: Star Eater is no longer.

Sony's latest innovative camera has reviews of incredible eyeglasses and glow, but astrophotographers are complaining about the "Star Eater" problem in which stars are wrong for noise and long exposure photos have been removed. There is some good news in it, however: it seems that the new Sony A7R III does not have "Star Eater" problem.

If you are not running with "Star Eater" failure, then this is the essence: In August 2016, the firmware updates released for A7R II and A7S II included a special filtering feature that was for exposure. Removes noise from more than a few seconds. But photographers found that with this facility the stars will be removed in the process and the problem became known as "Star Eater" issue.

Sony finally released firmware updates in June 2017, which was about to fix the problem, but the photographers later reported that their updated cameras were still "eat" stars.

The announcement of the new Sony A7R III was last month and attracted much attention to its spectacles and features, but astrophotographers naturally started thinking about whether long-term exposure would be an issue with astrophysics.

Photographer Drew Gerassi tested only the camera (a real production model) and shot at ISO 12,800 at 3.2 seconds and 10 seconds, respectively, on two seconds.

Gerassi writes, "As you can see compared to the side, with all the noise reduction in the main menu, you can easily see that all stars are present and account for their 100% resolution, Book. " "The star-viewer is no more."
